"Home Keeping" Support
412-206-6146 office
412-699-2300 cell
Unlike home care agencies, we do not provide personal care services or assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). Instead, we provide home keeping, household support, cleaning service. Our team is made up of experienced janitorial, house cleaning partners who are also compassionate caregivers, aides, personal care assistants, and nurses who understand the unique needs of older adults and treat every client with dignity and respect.
Asking for help isn't always easy. Many people reach a point where they know they could use a little assistance but aren't ready for traditional care services. That's where we come in.
We'll sit down together, discuss your needs, and create a plan that works for you. Whether you want us to work alongside you or handle everything ourselves, we're here to make life a little easier.
Client Service Policies & What to Expect
“As Much Help as You Want. As Little as You Need”
Companion Cleaning specializes in supporting seniors, older adults, and families maintain clean, safe, comfortable homes.
We understand that inviting someone into your home is personal. Our goal is to make the process comfortable, respectful, and easy from the very beginning.
Founder, Cindy Wolfe, has spent more than 15 years working with seniors, their families, and the professionals who support aging adults—in addition to five years of volunteer experience that began as a hospital “Candy Striper” in the 1980s. Compassion, caring, and respect for older adults have remained a common thread throughout her career. Through those years of experience, Cindy recognized an important gap: many seniors are still independent and don't need traditional home care but could use a little help maintaining their homes.
Companion Cleaning was created to fill that gap—providing trusted household support while respecting each person's independence, dignity, and desire to remain comfortably at home. From running a multi-million-dollar staffing agency to Human Resources in Skilled Nursing and Home Care, Cindy has always CARED FOR PEOPLE WHO CARE FOR PEOPLE. With Companion Cleaning, the circle is complete with the addition of the personalized assistance to not just seniors, but also their family members.

Estimates & Initial Consultation… The “Consult Clean”
Every home is different. The amount of time required depends on the size and condition of the home, services requested, number of rooms being cleaned, pets, clutter, and the level of cleaning needed.
For larger projects, deep cleans, organizing projects and clean-outs, we request photos or schedule an in-home consultation before providing an estimate. Here’s how we are different! The “Consult Clean”. We will come out, discuss your needs and goals and tackle a project for an introductory fee.
A formal written estimate is available upon request. Most times, we complete a “Scope of Work” and can provide ahead of our arrival or day of cleaning service.
At any time, ff additional work is discovered after a project begins, we will discuss it with you before completing work that could significantly change the original estimate.

Cancellations & Rescheduling
We understand that appointments, illnesses, family needs, and unexpected situations happen, especially when working with older adults.
We simply ask that clients provide as much notice as possible when an appointment needs to be changed.
Appointments cancelled with less than 16 hours’ notice are subject to a cancellation fee, particularly when a Companion Cleaning Specialist has already purchased product, reserved travel and service time for the appointment.
Emergency situations will always be considered individually.

For everyone’s safety, we will never knowingly mix cleaning chemicals that could create dangerous fumes or reactions.
Here are the preferred cleaning products used by CC! Please see the "Preferred Products" page.
Our ‘go to’… “Simple Green” (Lavender) All-purpose cleaner & degreaser
Lysol (yellow) for bathrooms and touch-points
Bleach and Soft Scrub w/bleach are used only in toilet and bottom of tub/shower
Method wood cleaner for most furniture
Stainless Steel Polish (any brand) for shiny kitchens
Bona, Method, Weiman and Swiffer are the more frequently used floor products depending on your floors. We know how hard it is to keep floors clean. We will pay special attention to using the appropriate chemicals and equipment, so your tootsies are happy.
WINDEX! Love it. We use Windex *name brand only, on countertops, mirrors, windows and fixtures.
Specialty Products are used for cases such as lime/scale removal, oven cleaning, extreme grease, “goo”/stickers/gum…name the mess, we will find a way to clean it up.
Equipment & Supplies
Companion Cleaning provides some commonly used cleaning supplies and equipment. Depending on the service requested, clients may be asked to provide access to certain household equipment or specialty products.
Any special arrangements will be discussed before service whenever possible.
Pets
We love our clients’ pets! However, everyone’s safety is important.
Please let us know about dogs, cats, or other animals in the home before your appointment. Pets that may interfere with cleaning or become anxious around unfamiliar people or equipment should be secured in a comfortable area during service.
Valuables & Fragile Items
Please secure cash, jewelry, medications, important documents, collectibles, firearms, and other valuable or highly personal items before service.
Please also identify antiques, fragile belongings, delicate surfaces, or items requiring special handling.
We would rather not move an item than risk damaging something that is important to you.
Decluttering & Organizing
Our philosophy is simple:
It’s your home and your belongings. When assisting with organizing or decluttering, we will work with you—not make decisions for you.
Items will not knowingly be discarded, donated, or removed from the property without authorization from the client or authorized family representative.
For projects requiring organization beyond the “every day” need, we can refer you to three great local companies who specialize in organization.
Safety Comes First
Our team members may decline any task that they believe creates an unreasonable safety risk.
This may include:
-
Unsafe ladders or excessive heights
-
Moving extremely heavy furniture
-
Biohazardous materials including excessive food waste
-
Significant mold
-
Pest or insect infestations
-
Human or animal waste requiring specialized remediation
-
Needles or medical sharps
-
Hazardous chemicals
-
Unsafe structural conditions
When something falls outside our scope, we’ll explain the concern and, when possible, help identify the type of professional who may be better suited for the job.
Our Commitment to Seniors & Families
Companion Cleaning was created to help fill an important gap.
There can be a long period between being completely independent and needing traditional home care. Sometimes all that’s needed is a little help around the house.
Accepting help doesn’t mean giving up your independence. In many cases, getting help with physically demanding household tasks can make it easier to continue living safely and comfortably at home.
Some clients want us to handle everything. Others enjoy working alongside us. Both are welcome. We’re here to meet you where you are.
Our Promise
We will treat you, your home, and your belongings with kindness, dignity and respect. We believe helping someone maintain their home is about much more than cleaning. It’s about creating comfort, reducing stress, supporting families, and helping people maintain their independence.
Thank you for choosing COMPANION CLEANING! -Cindy
